Meanwhile, in Hyperopolis…

Man, you just can’t go wrong with a magic, power-increasing amulet. It really is the fashion accessory of choice for villains with “world domination” scrawled on their GTD actions list.

By the way, this strip marks the start of a storyline co-plotted by my good pal, Vito Delsante. We had a blast co-writing this arc last year when I was in New York for the Superior Showcase #1 signing at Jim Hanley’s Universe.

It’s been a wild couple of weeks here at Butterfly HQ. I created a new superhero, Tree-Man, for the incredibly fun new art blog, FIST-A-CUFFS, and along with his tag-team partner, Joel Priddy’s The God of Scissors, he made it all the way to the regional conference championships, before being bested. Despite this defeat, Tree-Man sparked a good chunk of popularity amongst other artisty folks, and a little Draw Tree-Man meme sparked up last week. I drew a bunch of pics of the character this week over on my LiveJournal, and I intend to bring him into the Butterfly U. really soon.

Also, I just got the heads up that there’s some Butterfly love being shown over at Scans_Daily, so check that out. It’s pretty cool looking through the old strips, seeing the evolution of the series. Thanks to LJ’er co1dpaws for the plug!

For some reason, I read “amulet” as “mullet”.

The last panel is one of my all time Butterfly favorites. I laughed out loud.

This is looking good, Dean. Its been a while since Butterfly and the boys had a big villain to deal with. Also, this strip is really funny, a perfect example of the work you do with Butterfly. And I like that he’s called Seth.

Love Butterfly, keep it comin’. Tree-man is cool. I loved all the other artist’s rendition of him too.
