Isn’t That Your Sidekick?
I can’t get enough of this Global Alliance of Superheroes! By the way, I haven’t given Godsend’s sidekick a name yet if you’ve got any suggestions. I “live-blogged” the creation of this strip over on my LiveJournal yesterday if you’re interested in seeing a bunch of process shots.
My wife and I are getting pretty excited about our trip to Bethesda, Maryland next week for SPX! It’s Sonrisa’s first convention in a long time, so I’m hoping it’s a good one. I’ve just put in last minute orders for comics, prints, and buttons, so I should have plenty of stuff for Butterfly fans. My button-maker, Hello Voltage, just sent me this pic of my new button designs!
Also this week, I caught this rather well-written and carefully considered review of the Butterfly webcomic over at Rooktopia! I agree with his review pretty much entirely, and really enjoyed reading through it. Even “El Santo’s” crits are pretty valid, haha. Though, like many readers, I don’t think the reviewer has read Butterfly’s origin story in Superior Showcase #1, which most fans can only get from me at shows. (I think it recently became available at the AdHouse Books site again though, if you haven’t read it!) It’s not absolutely necessary to enjoy the webcomic, but there’s a few juicy secrets in that story that any Butterfly fan will enjoy.
In all-ages entertainment news, Legion of Superheroes is still rocking my face off, and The Sarah Jane Adventures are a blast!

I live in MD and real close to Bethesda but it I won’t be able to go to SPX. I would love to get me some Butterfly swag.

Excellent review of Butterfly at Rooktopia. That’s awesome when people put that much thought into your comic, but of course, Butterfly deserves it.
Hey, I’m heading down to SPX myself. I still don’t have anything to sell, so I guess I’ll just have to buy a bunch of stuff. Will you have a table?

just a few possible suggestions for the godsend sidekick. i couldnt find a picture or description of godsend so this is the best i could think of from nothing but a word.

I like Addies suggestion of Windfall as a name for Godsend’s sidekick!
Others might be;
“Grace” - Has the right ring to it, sounds right with “Godsend and…” and has to suit the character better than the DC one, for whom libido seems to replace personality
“Dharma” might work too (In its meaning of ‘right way of living’, ‘proper conduct’, ‘duty’ or ‘righteousness’)
I thought momentarily of “Assette” with the play on words, but realised that there is more than ONE play on words there, and it ain’t one that fits with Butterfly’s world.
“Boon” isn’t a very feminine name, bit it has the right meaning behind it.

I suggest “Heavens to Betsy” for the name of Godsend’s sidekick. It has a bit of kid flare to it and is also a bit cutesy at the same time. ; )
