Butterfly and the Ice Cream Dimension, Part 1!
…aaaand we’re back. Since we last saw our heroes, I was months younger and was not yet a father (thank you, thanks, I know) and my new baby boy, convention season, and a slew of time-intensive freelance gigs were just about to sweep my free time out from under me.
BUT NOW, joining the Butterfly family is Jemma Salume! I met Jemma about a year ago through her excellent submissions to Project: Rooftop, and we’ve been pals ever since. Jemma even wrote this new storyline pretty much all by herself, which meant all I did here was slap some colors on it and drop in the word balloons. Next up she’ll be drawing a story I wrote a while back (co-plotted by frequent Butterfly collaborator Vito Delsante), and I’ll be popping back in here and there to handle the art chores when I have time, too.
And just for funtimes, here’s some reader art from Chris Schweizer!

See you back here next week for more Butterfly! (I mean it this time!)

it took me a while to figure out that the “5 million years later” is a reference to the 5 months between strips and not that the comic itself actually jumped to 5 million years in the future.

Yay! New Butterfly!!! And the return of…. Butter-Mite? (Sorry, I can’t recall her name)
Also, best worst name for an ice cream parlour EVER!

Wow! I JUST started a mini project and cited one of the reasons as to doing it because I missed Butterfly - this is awesome news!

I have to say, if that’s Jemma up there, I couldn’t even tell the difference. She’s a perfect substitute and I can’t wait to see her strips!
