| good job! I'm so impressed you were able to do such great illustrations with everything you did during the day (many people's hourly comic day turns into them drawing comics all day). way to go! |

Thanks, I appreciate it!
This was the first year I was able to do my comics quickly and within the hour, it was pretty cool.
I suppose having a monotonous desk job helped with that:] _________________ Check out my art blog: www.mattknieling.com/blog

Ohhh, "breaks". So awkward and fulfilling. I do the same thing to catch up on my pocket frogs sometimes. Love the amount of detail you put into all of these! One so rarely sees backgrounds anymore.
For the record, would have murdered the banshee child. |

| These are great! So much detail, so many drawings; you must've really had to motor to get all these done. And I love it that we get to see photos of your whole notebook, not just the drawings. It looks really neat. |

as is the general feeling in posts above, the amount of detail you've put in is really impressive! in particular, you made that pint look really appetizing. i'm curious as to how large the notebook you used is?? _________________ read my comic |

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!
Definitely, the secret to my detail/time ratio is the small scale I was working on. This is a knock-off Moleskin book, roughly 3"x4". So, working at that size, it wasn't too time consuming to fill it with lines. And it certainly helps that the library was slow that day:]
Coincidentally, I'd highly recommend that book to anyone looking for a small travel sketchpad. I think the label originally said "Modeskin", it's by Pentallic. I found mine at Hobby Lobby. They don't shelve them with the drawing supplies, rather, up front with the checkout impulse buys. Mine was $2.50, and the paper is a dream to work on in ink! _________________ Check out my art blog: www.mattknieling.com/blog
