Today I watched the Fantastic Four movie and The Machinist. The second film was so good, I felt like I should apologize to it for even having given the first one a second glance. FF was BAD. Wow. You'd think the hundreds of people working on it would've noticed that NOTHING HAPPENS. I seriously cannot believe that there's no real threat that they save anyone from. It's unbelievable! They cause as much property damage as the 'bad guy' and are revered as heroes.
The Machinist was really cool, though. I liked the multiple layers of mystery. And DANG, Bruce Wayne lost a lot of weight for that role! BTW, if you check out the DVD, watch the making of video. They shot the film in Spain, so they had to subtitle all the Spanish folks' talking. But whoever did it couldn't spell! I thought it was just typos, but as the thing went on, it became hilarious.
I drew two character designs for a gig, a new Butterfly, and a drawing for a thing me and Phil McAndrew are working on for SPX. Fairly productive day, I suppose.
Third Stella episode was better than the second. _________________ Dean Trippe | Project Rooftop |

I'm sitting here talking to Natasha and my kid sister's boyfriend on AIM. I'm surprised that the little dude is actually pretty cool. We're talking about Halo 2. _________________ Dean Trippe | Project Rooftop |

HOLY COW MAN, the new HP is going GREAT. I'm on page 217.
I'm hoping to go see Charlie and the Chocolate factory late tonight. _________________ Dean Trippe | Project Rooftop |

Got to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at IMAX today. It IS an awesome flick.
I usually feel that Tim Burton produces films that are visually beautiful but kind of light on substance--this time, though, I think he really did a wonderful job in terms of both style and substance.
Most of the reviews I have read so far have not done the movie justice. |

DANG IT I TOTALLY NEED TO GO SEE THAT TOMORROW!
Finished HP6, btw. It was dope. It seems like they're far enough into the series that the episodic nature of the previous books has melted away and now we're in full blown, continuity mode. Not that the previous books didn't have serious continuity girdings, just that this one did't have the same kinda 'big bad focus' that needed to be resolved. It's more like general bad mojo going around.
Anyway, it was good. Glad I got to read it quickly and now can get back to life.
(I'm also officially engaged now, if you're not able to see my friends-only post on my LJ.) _________________ Dean Trippe | Project Rooftop |

No, engaged as in "I'm somehow a representation of the command just given by Captain Picard" -- YES ENGAGED GONNA GET MARRIED ENGAGED.
