Not quite a typical Sunday for me, since the husband is out of town...

These are great!

(And you eat beautifully weird food. Beautifully.)

I didn't even know there was a parade today. I need to get out more.

Is it possible that anything can be made better if it is served in a pineapple? I am going to have spend some time thinking about that one.

Thanks!

The cucumber salad thing looks a little suspicious, being basically green mush, but it tastes fantastic. These are the sorts of things I eat when I'm not all that hungry.

The parade was John's idea. None of us had been to it before. (John's version of events are here.)

The pineapple in the picture in the menu looked so cool, and then it just came on a plate. The menu has pages and pages of beautiful photos, and everything looks slightly different when it arrives. (John's "stone bowl" was not stone.) The food was still really good, but a pineapple serving dish would have been very awesome.

Good stuff! Your comics make me hungry for either avacado or anything stuffed into a pineapple. I now regard my lunch as woefully insufficient being placed in a tupperware rather than a beautiful tropical fruit.

We were going to meet up with John at the parade as well, but I did not recover from plague with the expected velocity. I guess there's always next year.

Thanks, afrocheese and Rounzie! I did say "aaaack", in fact, so I had to write it.

The avocado things is easy and delicious. Halve an avocado, squeeze half a lemon over the two halves, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, eat with a spoon. It tastes like something special but it takes 5 minutes. But you need a good avocado.

Preachertom, next year! Feel better.
