Hi again all! Always nice coming back here once a year, such a nice little community :)
This was a pretty busy Feb. 1st for me, so I definitely made lots of these after the fact (usually during my subway commutes :P ). Sorry they're so huge, but it took me long enough to get it this good, so it'll have to do!

One neat thing I learned about here was the collection of scanned book plates and fashion illustrations that librarians at the Visual Resource Center at Pratt have been putting online. Fun times!

yeah, working in a museum is kind of the dream... or at least one possible dream... still sorta undecided in the post-master's career trajectory!

I love how you've drawn your grandma. I also really love the quality of your lines. You capture a lot of character with them.

cake soup is cake. in a bowl. with milk. the sad fact is that i eat dessert for breakfast :P
and thanks so much! i feel like my lines are just sloppy and cluttered (using those colored pencils to give some guidelines), so that is an especially nice compliment to receive... though i don't know how my grandmother feels about how i drew her :P

thanks matt, such kind words! i've come up with a useful shorthand for drawing myself over the years, but i still struggle with others' likenesses... (i was happy with how the librarians at 2-3 o'clock turned out, but i cheated and sketched them during their presentations...)
i see you work in a library? i'm in a master's program for that now, so we may be colleagues one day :P

thanks so much! in years past i've definitely stayed inside all day on HCD, so it was nice to be moderately active on this time around! i thought i might've gone a bit link crazy breaking up the hourlies like that, so glad to hear someone liked 'em!
