So like I've said a million times recently, I've been watching a lot of the DC/WB cartoons this week. Here's a visual representation of the animated evolution of Superman:



It's hard to knock the Fleisher design, but my tastes run to the second version here, by Timm. The newer design he did for Justice League, though, is really silly looking. Superman should look strong, but he doesn't have to be humongous. He's not strong because he works out.

Plus, his face is all wonky in Justice League. Like he had some bad reconstructive surgery.

But despite the crappy Superman, the writing on JLU is so much better than it was in Justice League's first season (when I disavowed the show).

Here are some dope JLU quotes:

Huntress: Wow - I had no idea that the Girl Scouts were responsible for the crop circle phenomenon.

Green Arrow: Are we dead yet?
Black Canary: No.
Green Arrow: Are we dead yet?
