I don’t even mind the black boots since it matches the “S” shield. I also like that she didn’t feel that she had to follow convention and wear a blonde wig. Luc's inclusion of glasses is a really neat idea, and Joel's concept of socks and store bought shoes is perfect... they both have an indie comic feel, and I can just imagine the unique storylines these versions of Supergirl would take!
