As soon as I saw the Campbell design I desperately wanted to see that character in All-Star Superman. For some reason I feel like she’d fit perfectly in Morrison’s odd little world. And yes, the Haley/Steel/Nock design is very Scott Pilgrim, and yes, that’s a good thing.

I think the difference that makes Ross Campell in his version is that is practical sexiness. While many superheroines costumes would fall, slip of just be unconfortable this one isn’t. she can kick butts perflectly with it.

Re: the last design, that capri-length leggings under a mini skirt look is very in right now (and I want that hoodie). I would also love to see Supergirl following fashion trends in her current books, because it seems like she would. 1970′s Supergirl did, didn’t she?

I like Campbell’s style, but the first things that popped in what passes for my mind when I saw if was 1) “Who wears short shorts…” (I hope you guys have heard of that old commercial) and 2) she looks cold. I know, she’s a Super-girl and thusly immune to the vagaries of temperature. But still.

The only thing that bugs me about Milligan’s entry, besides the pointy hair, is those pointy shoulders on her jacket, or tunic, or upper costume part. Looks kinda 1985.

Regarding Haley/Steel/Nock’s entry, all I can say is somebody’s been reading a lot of Scott Pilgrim, haven’t they?

i think chris would agree that this was very scott pilgrim-inspired.

i was torn between tennis shoes and boots, so chris was going to go back and draw the feet later. but when diana said she’d ink it, chris couldn’t pass up the offer.

i very much like the IDEA of boots. every superhero should have them, really. but after thinking about it i decided this outfit might work better with some simple flat slip-ons. maybe she’s got another tougher costume for those really mean, hard-to-beat villians.

supergirl week over here at P:R has been great fun! it’s been exciting to see some of my favorite entries reviewed.

Paul Milligan has a great design for Supergirl. Love her hair. Love his art.

The Chris, April, & Diana version is cute, especially with the hoodie. Also, I’m a huge fan of anything Diana is involved with!
