  1. Loving Hawkgirl, this look really fits her dark personality. And thanks for including the holster, which I assume contains a gun of some sort. Why would someone who flies limit themselves to melee weapons? Hover and blast away at non-flying foes!

  2. The mask looks a bit furry to me, but otherwise this design has a whole lot to love. You’ve done a fantastic job of keeping her color scheme, but now it’s got a great sci-fi militaristic feel that it’s always lacked. And the boots are perfect.

  3. The boots MAKE this. It’s interesting to see which redesigns go together, this one looks like it really belongs with the Batman and Wonder Woman ones.

  4. I actually really like the design, but not the WAY it was drawn. The alien armor and colors all look awesome and suitable for the character, but the body language and style flares make it look like a nerdy teenage girl from band-camp in cosplay.

But the design itself is actually really cool.

  5. p.s.
Legion of Super-Heroes, Birds of Prey, Challengers of the Unknown, Doom Patrols, Invaders,
evil groups, many, many more group, team-ups, etc!

  6. I was initially off put by this design’s presentation. She looks so . . . glum.
But moving past the mopieness, I love what she’s wearing. Great use of drab colours and I loved the hawk feet.

  7. This grew on me. At first I think the mask put me off a bit. It says more vulture than hawk to me.

but on a few more viewings, I’m starting to like the griminess of the design.

I know this isn’t particularly planned, but when you see Hawkgirl in the background, scruffy and a bit battle scarred, then look at green lantern all lens flare and sheen, I really dig the dichotomy.

We see space as both new and bright and hopeful, and also grim and dangerous and a little bit scrappy.

    Liking it.

Really want to see how we round out the ‘alien’ members of the JLA with what I presume is Martian Manhunter on the right.

  8. I love everything about the design…except for the helmet. It doesn’t say “hero” to me, and it looks a little…misguided, like it doesn’t go with the rest of the outfit.

Other than that, it’s a really cool take on the character’s costume.

  9. Just checked out Evan’s website- jealous of the development and consistency of style. Having said that, I’m not a fan of this redesign, (or many in the Invitational) I’m sorry.
I never understood why Hawkman and Hawkwoman’s masks have the “Owl Ears”, and this redesign does not address that, or come up with a better solution, it just slightly modifies what was already there. This, the pasted on wings, the drab colours and bummed out pose just leave me cold. Just my opinion, though!

  10. the disheveled look really fits her character. well at least that according to the JL cartoon series. there’s a wilder more feral sense in this look contrary to the regal look of the hawkgirl people know. i’m only dissatisfied with the posing in this picture. looks like she has bow legs or really needs to go potty…
