P:R Approved: Anka & Schlaga’s Secret Invaders

Note: Check out this fantastic Tron-ified version of the Secret Invaders (Nick Fury, Bucky Barnes, Namor, and the original Human Torch) by artists Kris Anka and Fabian Schlaga. I’ve gotta say, of all the Tron-inspired versions of superheroes we’ve seen since the new film buzz started picking up, Kris and Fabian’s Human Torch here is my favorite. Head over to Satellite Soda for a massive thread of more Tron’d Marvel heroes. – D.T.

  1. Very nice. I think maybe somewhat reminiscent of Jae Lee’s work. There is a great texture and shadowplay on the suits, that combined with subtle/minimalistic facial expressions create a very realistic feel. Well, you know- as realistic as glowing superheroes get. The posing of the characters and layout of the piece is well planned too. Great execution!

  2. I’m gonna put it out there right now. Digitized Human Torch is the dopest thing ever. Awesome. Bradford said it best, this is an incredible piece.

  3. I have to admit– Tronning something is always kinda cool to me. That being said, Digital Torch is a brilliant idea that could totally be brought into mainstream continuity.

  4. That’s pretty fierce. Cap is reminiscent of Blackbolt there; the Inhumans are clearly streets ahead when it comes to fashion.

  5. That’s a kick-butt-awesome-sauce illustration.

That said, I’m kinda done with the Tronification of Marvel characters. Disney owns Marvel, Tron Legacy is an “important” Disney movie…I get it. I’m just kinda done with it.

  6. @John

I am so not done with it. There better be Pirate Marvel characters next year, or there’ll be hell to pay.
