/ January 23, 2012I’m liking Babe Beetle’s shorts, they’ve got a very retro 30s look to them.

/ January 23, 2012Bustier Gold would totally wear golden high heels. And Fire is rockin’, like Dokken.

/ January 23, 2012Beetle & Booster work incredibly well, I can see them as kind of the Nicole Richie & Paris Hilton of super heroes. We’ve seen female Lanterns before but I dig this even so and is that supposed to be a female Lex Luthor? Forgive me if I’m wrong but I’m not a huge DC guy. The Fire & Ice look too much like something you’d see on Captain Planet or some other corny cartoon…
Overall good work, I love Maya Nords style.

/ January 23, 2012Jay, the one in the suit is the female version of Max Lord.
Really digging the style, though. Beetle & Booster, in particular, are especially great- really captured what I’d imagine them to be.

/ January 23, 2012I really love Ice.

/ January 23, 2012Maxine Lord?
Dean
/ January 23, 2012Jay, that’s supposed to be Max Lord next to Gal Gardner.
I think Bustier Gold is my favorite of these, just for the cheesy pose.

/ January 23, 2012I believe the woman in the suit is Max Lord.
You gotta love the flexibility of superhero designs. They’re great for both men and women.
Liz
/ January 23, 2012That’s not Lex Luthor, that’s Maxwell Lord (or Maxine Lord, I suppose), former manager of the JLI turned murderous megalomaniac.
Mario Di Giacomo
/ January 23, 2012Maxine Lord looks more like an unmasked Vicky Sage.
Jesse Williams-Fuller
/ January 23, 2012Beetle’s giant underwear looks silly, but the others are good.
…
Stupid sexy Female Booster

/ January 23, 2012Man!Fire looks like Minato Namikaze (The Fourth Hokage from Naruto)

/ January 25, 2012i was about to announce her, b**bster gold… but bustier works fine too… the art is wonderful but not digging fire and ice’s looks. looks like what the mighty morphin’ power rangers would wear. maxine just screams ellen de generes to me.

/ January 25, 2012I love how Maya kept the character so intact, regardless of gender. It really comes across. Also, I can’t look at Gold without bursting out laughing.
My one beef is that Beetle’s shorts don’t seem to mesh with the rest of the outfit. They COULD work, but I’d like to see it tied in a little better… maybe a few more gold studs/buttons around the outfit, to make the theme more continuous?

/ January 26, 2012Fire should really be wearing either no shirt, or a green mesh tank top to show off his manly shaved chest.
Beetle’s shorts don’t quite do it for me. They look like they belong on a different, less form-fitting costume – like if the suit had a cool pulp-style bomber jacket.
I’m also not wild about Maxine’s shoes. I just think darker shoes would look better with that suit.
I love the general concept, though. I’d like to see Blake Canary, Big Brad and Mrs. Miracle, and the Elongated Woman in the same style. (Although, I suppose I could just look at pictures of Elasti-girl from the Incredibles)

/ March 20, 2012Wow, I’m really liking the design for Guy (Guyette?) Gardner. And of course the blue & gold rock. I’m kind of sad there’s no Power Boy design.
