Note: DC’s Batman has one of the biggest families in comics. This tight-knit group of orphans, runaways and self-made men and women have each shown themselves to have a style all their own. And artist Jen Zee has taken time to show off former Batgirl Cassandra Cain in her new guise as the Black Bat as seen in Batman Inc.. – Chris A.

/ March 12, 2012Awesome! I love Cassandra Cain. It’s a shame that she and Stephanie Brown have basically disappeared….

/ March 12, 2012I hate the batfamily, just as a concept. Very nice artwork though, reminds me of the Djurdjevics (checked my spelling and I got it right first time O_O)!

/ March 12, 2012What are all those ribbon things? And those loose arm wraps seem don’t useful but cumbersome … I don’t understand what’s with all of the superfluous elements. With the claws it feels almost more like Marvels Blackcat

/ March 12, 2012Hey dnwilliams, purely out of curiosity, why do you hate the bat family concept?

/ March 12, 2012I’m loving the art style with this character. I’ve someone given up on a lot of comic story lines now’a days, but I would most definitely read this title if it was illustrated by Zee.

/ March 13, 2012Nice illustration , but bats have claws too, so do loads of mammals, birds and reptiles… it has nothing cat (color scheme with claws and mask is more relevant to Marvel’s the Cat)…

/ March 13, 2012It just takes away a bit from what I enjoy about Batman stories. Allies like Gordon and Alfred and so on are great, but I prefer Bruce Wayne not to be surrounded by other costumed heroes and I also generally dislike derivative superhero identities.

/ March 13, 2012Those just seem to be stylistic elements in the illustration. In her actual costume, she wraps her hands like boxers and martial artists do, to protect the joints.
This isn’t so much a redesign as just a cool pinup. Which is okay every once in a while.

/ March 15, 2012The arm wraps don’t seem so bad, but the neck wrap seems to be begging to get pulled over her eyes, and the loose belt would seem to make stealth difficult. In fact it looks more like some electrician’s tool belt than a utility belt.
On the plus side though, at least she’s not sporting some impractical cleavage and heels ensemble. One up for the Bat family!

/ March 20, 2012I prefer scarves and neck wraps. They can be modified and reshaped to suit a bunch of circumstances (e.g. cold, smoke, further disguise) Plus, if anying can move past the potential drawbacks of having it pulled over their eyes, it’s Cassandra. I prefer the pockets since BATMAN GADGETS AREN’T SMALL .
Then again, I can see the potential use of straps as weapons, espcially if you attach hooks or weights to the end. Thank you Air Gear
