Steampunk Batmans

Note: Here’s a couple of cool conceptual Batman redesigns I saw this week. First, Paul Milligan‘s Steampunk Batman for Warren Ellis’s always cool REMAKE/REMODEL challenges at Whitechapel:

And secondly, the “Marquis Le Bat” by Chet Phillips for his incredible Union of Superlative Heroes trading card set:

Career Day: Chambara JLA

Note: Career Day is P:R’s column devoted to occupational, period, and conceptual redesigns of superheroes. Rooftop Regular and good friend of the site Alex Mitchell has sent us another period reimagining, this time of the entire “Magnificent Seven” version of Justice League of America (my favorite!) in Japanese sword-fighting movie style. Enjoy the awesome and check out Alex’s DeviantArt gallery for larger versions. – Dean Trippe

Shane McDermott’s Wild West Daredevil

Note: The P:R inbox is jam-packed with fresh Captain America redesigns, but our friends over at Superhero CoCoa spent the week drawing Daredevils! Here’s my favorite, from P:R Pal Shane McDermott. Head over to SC for the full results, as well as Shane’s WWDD in Daredevil’s original yellow/black/red color scheme! – Dean Trippe

Career Day: Alex Mitchell’s The Adventurists

Career Day is a regular column here at P:R  for more radical (think Elseworlds, What If…?) redesigns based on genres and professions. With Marvel’s Heroic Age and adjective-free Avengers relaunch kicking off soon, this week we’ve decided to look at Alex Mitchell‘s occult, turn-of-the-century take on the Avengers, the Adventurists! If you’d like to submit a Career Day redesign, just check our Guidelines for submissions info. - Dean

Alex had this to say about his team redesign:

The Gentlemen Adventurists’ Society was a joint effort between the United States and her allies to quell the emerging para-natural menace (and the sometimes equally destructive para-natural panic). Led by the popular American Spirit, this pack of para-naturally powered personages are potent paragons of para-natural power practiced in protection of the People!

Career Day: Jemma Salume’s Blue Lobster

Career Day is a new regular feature here at P:R  for more radical (read: non-continuity) redesigns based on genres, professions, and the tasty aquatic hero/menu option below. If you’d like to submit a Career Day redesign, just check our Guidelines for submissions info. - Dean Trippe

Career Day: Joel Carroll’s Doc Strange

Note: Career Day is a new feature here at Project: Rooftop. Contributor Calamity Jon Morris and I wanted to open up the site’s focus a bit to allow for more radical (read: non-continuity) redesigns based on genres and professions, as we’ve actually run a few very good ones (like Maris Wicks’ Park Ranger Wolverine) in the past. If you’d like to submit a Career Day redesign, just check our Guidelines for submissions info. - Dean Trippe, Editor
