Call For Submissions for Fan-Art Friday: Damian Wayne/Robin!

Note: He may have not been the first to carry the moniker of Robin, but he wore it like none other — and sneered in the process. In this installment of P:R’s Fan-Art Friday, we point your attention to DC’s Damien Wayne, Robin. Following his death in the recent New 52 continuity, it brought new attention to the character and how unique he was the pantheon of Robins to exist. But make no mistake…. this Fan-Art Friday isn’t a funeral or wake for Damien, but more a celebration. Artists of all stripes are encouraged to draw their rendition of Damian; the deadline for submissions is Wednesday, July 3 at 5pm Eastern time. Email them to us at projectrooftop@gmail.com with your full name, a link to your website/portfolio (if you have one). Make sure the images are under 1000 pixels wide, and are in either JPG, GIF or PNG formats. To get your mind rolling, here’s a piece by Jemma Salume featuring young master Wayne.– Chris A.

Call For Submissions for Fan-Art Friday: Beast!

Note: Batman may have the biggest wardrobe closet in all of superhero comics, but Marvel’s Beast seems to be the one that goes through the most transformation. With him recently evolving to a more ape-like look in the pages of All-New X-Men, we thought it time to celebrate the various incarnations of Dr. Henry McCoy in our next Fan-Art Friday. Whether you like the classic blue furry look, the Quitely New X-Men design, the new Immonen design or the classic hairless variety, now is your chance to draw him. To prep yourself for this contest, we recommend reading Andrew Wheeler’s great ComicsAlliance article on the various faces of the Beast and get thinking. Artists of all stripes are encouraged to draw their rendition of Beast; the deadline for submissions is Wednesday, May 15 at 5pm Eastern time. Email them to us at projectrooftop@gmail.com with your full name, a link to your website/portfolio (if you have one). Make sure the images are under 1000 pixels wide, and are in either JPG, GIF or PNG formats. – Chris A.

Fan-Art Friday: Wonder Woman!

Note: Wonder Woman is descended from gods, and it looks like she has a almost religious following from the artists who submitted to our Fan-Art Friday. We received over 120 entries into this Fan-Art Friday, including comic professionals, previous P:R contest winners and a host of super-talented newcomers. Look below, and tell us which ones are your favorite and why! – Chris A.

Fan-Art Friday: Thor!

Note: I’m not a religious man, but from the outpouring of support for a particular Norse god I might have to reconsider. Our call for Thor fan-art beckoned forth a downpour of great art, from spirited amateurs to downright, stone-cold art professionals. I wanted to thank everyone for submitting to this one, especially the P:R newcomers who overcame obstacles and stage-fright to send it over. I have my favorites — who are yours? – Chris A.

Last Chance For Fan-Art Friday: Thor!

Note: Last call for entries into Project: Rooftop’s Fan-Art Friday: Thor. Entries are due today at 5pm Eastern, and we hope to run them all Friday, February 15th barring any unforeseen events. To get those last-minute entries energized, here’s a favorite Thor piece of mine by Frank Cho. – Chris A.

Call For Submissions for Fan-Art Friday: Thor!

Note: I once told Dean that I didn’t think anyone could top Olivier Coipel’s rendition of Thor, but the recent Thor: God Of Thunder series proved me wrong. Esad Ribic has turned in one of the most majestic and weathered Odinson’s in the character’s history, and that’s exactly why P:R started Fan-Art Friday. For Fan-Art Friday: Thor, the deadline for submissions is Monday, February 11th at 5pm Eastern time. Email them to us at projectrooftop@gmail.com with your full name and a link to your website/portfolio. Now bask in this excellent illustration of Thor from three different times in his life by Ribic. - Chris A.

Fan-Art Friday: Glory!

Note: Last month we put out a call for fan-art of Rob Liefeld’s Glory based on the recent series by Ross Campbell and Joe Keatinge. And that call, it definitely got answers. Over the past month we’ve received renditions of Glory based on her original incarnation, Campbell’s new version, as well as left-field redesigns and even a My Little Pony version. Read on my friends, read on. – Chris A.
