While Marvel’s terrestial heroes may be its most known (for now), Nova is one of its shining stars in terms of heroes who aren’t afraid to go further to fight crime and injustice. And for our regular Fan-Art Friday series, we asked artists far and wide to send up this interstellar hero with their own spins. Some artists simply did spirited renditions of the classic and modern iterations of the Nova suit, while others like Andy MacDonald took it a step further and redesigned the Human Rocket for the 21st century. – Chris A.
Note: He flies, he’s super-invulnerable, and he’s gone toe-to-toe with everyone from Terrax to Galactus to the Dark Phoenix. He’s Nova. Created in 1976 by Marv Wolfman and John Buscema as a space-age homage to the plucky working-class hero Spider-Man, he’s gone on to be one of the leading stars in Marvel’s cosmic adventures. Whether you’re a fan of Richard Rider, the all-new Sam Alexander, or one of the various other members of the Nova Corps, Nova is someone worth talking about — and someone more than deserving of a Fan-Art Friday. Artists of all style, variety and skill level are encouraged to send us your rendition of the Human Rocket.
