P:R Approved: Giovanni Costa’s Spaghetti Gotham!

Note: It seems seeing your favorite heroes and villains transformed and twisted into new times and locales is a popular past-time for artists, as Costa Giovanni has stepped up to the plate and taken Gotham’s gang into the Wild West, Sergio Leone style. Costa’s style really works here, and the standouts for me are the turncoat Two-Face and the Native American Nightwing. Thanks, Giovanni! – Chris A.

P:R Redesign: Denis Medri’s Rockabilly Batman Rogues!

Note: Continuing his one-man action plan on convincing DC to take Batman back to the 1950s, artist Denis Medri is back with the rest of Batman’s Rogues Gallery. That Two-Face really lives up to the considerable requests we’ve received for this rendition, and that Harleyquinn could be America’s (evil) sweetheart. – Chris A.

P:R Approved: Ted Naifeh’s 1920s Batman & Friends!

Note: Batman can’t be limited to one time and one place; in comics we’ve seen him go everywhere from the prehistoric age to the far-flung future, and now pro artist Ted Naifeh is taking the Dark Knight to the Art Deco age. Inspired by magazine illustrator Russell Patterson, Naifeh’s dreamt up a 1920s Gotham replete with Batman and his assorted rogue’s gallery. Seeing Harley Quinn as a flapper is a no-brainer. – Chris A.

P:R Approved: Igor Kieryluk’s Gotham 1459!

Note: In recent years we’ve seen Batman pop up throughout human history, but this arresting rendition by artist Igor Kieryluk takes the cake. Taking the denizens of Gotham City back 553 years and moving them to Europe, Kieryluk gives us a stunning rendition of what the Dark Knight would be if he was actually a knight. – Chris A.
