Building a Bigger Butterfly.

I have a feeling we’ll be seeing that guy again down the road. Btw, if you click back a strip, you can now see the last one in full color.

Last week, Mike Wieringo passed away. I wrote about my thoughts on his passing over on my LiveJournal, and I’m planning something for Project: Rooftop.

If you’re not familiar with ‘Ringo’s work, check out his above entry for the Alt. Butterfly contest, and then go check out the trades of his work on with Todd DeZago on Sensational Spider-Man and Tellos, and with Mark Waid on The Flash and Fantastic Four. I’ve been a fan of Mike’s work for almost fifteen years, and a friend for the last two. I just can’t say enough nice things about the guy, and I’m really gonna miss him.

That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a reference to Shazam in webcomics. Not surprising, seeing as how Marvel got sued by DC over it due to superman similarities and had to cancel it within months of it’s creation.

  6. Dean Trippe Says:

Glad you liked the reference, DarkLynx! Though you should check here for more info on the original Captain Marvel and the legal issues:
