The Wolverine ABCs by Sean Murphy

Joe the Barbarian artist Sean Murphy has been posting a series of alphabet-themed Wolverine team-up sketches called The Wolverine ABCs over at his DeviantArt gallery over the past year, using several custom redesigns and lots of fan-favorite characters. Even just as a cool layout exercise, this whole thing is super impressive. Definitely makes me wanna try it.

The series has just concluded with Z, so go brush up on your letters. And be sure to browse around the rest of the gallery, because that dude draws so good it burns.

  1. Super cool stuff. I love the fashions through the eras Wolverine seems to be going through, theres some grunge in there and a nice touches of western. Love the captain america and daredevil, Really some cool stuff.

  2. Haha, very nice preview banner.

If Mr. Murphy puts out a hard copy of this series (as I believe he hopes to) I will snap it up.

  3. Joe – They haven’t posted the Black Canary honorable mentions or said when the Captain America due date is yet.

  4. I got so excited when updates started coming more regularly, but now we haven’t had one in almost 3 weeks!

  5. Okay, but please remember that the real world sometimes takes precedence over the intertubes. This website is a Labor of Love for EVERYBODY involved. The artists that submit their work, the judges, and our Hosts Dean and Chris.
This is especially so for them, who are freelance creators with deadlines and family lives that are frankly more important than our amusement.
And this is coming from somebody who submitted a design for this contest and would love to read feedback. Seriously ya’ll gotta relax and enjoy Project Rooftop special treat as it served to you (for free might add).

Hey – we’re not going anywhere – and of course it’s understood that people are busy – my post was a cry for content or a little explanation…

(By the way – internet content is pretty much all free – being free hasn’t been a bonus since the 90′s!)

  7. People do go away, though. With all the Thor and Captain America costume controversies, it’s odd that this site wouldn’t even have a mention of the design revelations.

It’s rough when you leave us with the goddamned Wolverine as the last post forever, too. The drawings are nice, but Ruined Character + DeviantArt navigation= annoying associations every time I check in.
